I love making dal and its mainly toovar dal in our house but last week i decided that i must try a different type of dal and so i mixed together a little of masoor and moong dal to make this dal which is very very simple food which can me made with 15mins in a pressure cooker and its very healthy , easy to digest...
Masoor and moong dal do not have their own taste and so you have to put ingredients to make them more tasty
I will write the dal as a whole because its very simple and you can make it just like that with the additions that you want.
METHOD
Wash and soak 1/2 cup of masoor dal and 3/4 cup of moong dal (soaking is optional you can do it as soon as you wash it)
Take a pressure cooker and add a little oil for the tempering
add 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds let them splutter than add the hing or asoefotida and the finely chopped garlic
let it become flavorful don't brown it. add chopped red chillies and then add the dals.
put a little(1tsp) lemon juice, a little coriander-cumin powder and a small marble size ball of jaggery
salt to taste and put the pressure on .
let it cook for 2 whistles .
once cooled open the cooker and add finely chopped coriander leaves (I did not add as mine were over)
Eat this Dal nice and hot with a bowl full of rice.

In a cooker keep rice and tur dal to cook in a separate vessels.
Water in dal should of same level.

Put a another vessels on stove. Add oil (10 to 15 part of boiled dal).
